Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy Alumni Meetup in Beijing
On Saturday, August 3, 2024, the Cornell China Center in Beijing hosted the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy Alumni Meetup. Co-organized by Cornell Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and the Cornell Public Affairs Society (a graduate student organization), the gathering brought together about 30 alumni and current students from the school.
The event commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Dr. Ying Hua, Director of the Cornell China Center. She greeted the attendees and introduced the center’s role in fostering connections within the Cornell community in China, and highlighted the importance of building a strong network among students and alumni.
Following the opening remarks, the participants took the opportunity to introduce themselves and shared their most memorable moments of their time in Ithaca as well as their experience post graduate. This facilitated a relaxed and meaningful networking session where attendees exchanged insights, and aspirations. The event provided a platform for the participating students to gain valuable advice from the alumni, while also allowing alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and share their professional journeys. The meetup also achieved its goal to introduce and link alumni groups from classes graduated before and after the launch of the new Brooks School of Public Policy, for more connections and events in the future.
